    COPR and coronavirus

You can't travel to the US from the UK right now but you can fly to Mexico, spend 14 days vacationing there and then fly to the US and then drive up to the Canadian border and do the landing if you're COPR is still valid. That's what I did and all went very smoothly. I am a permanent resident of...

    COPR and coronavirus

No, that only applies when you fly to Canada. I crossed the border by land so there's no mandatory 3-day hotel quarantine. I am doing the 14-day quarantine at an apartment.

    COPR and coronavirus

I wanted to go through the land border to avoid hotel quarantine. Also, I wasn't sure if I would be allowed to board the plane in the US to fly to Canada, probably would but you never know these days. I took a PCR test before going to the border (tests for travel purposes are free in the US to...

    COPR and coronavirus

Guys. I know a lot of people get annoyed by the fact that anyone who resides in the US can actually go to the border and activate their PR as opposed to those who are somewhere else. I am from EU and my Copr expires in 2 weeks. I thought I would take my chances and do everything I could legally...

2020 Dec Soft Landing Experience via Peace Bridge and Return using AVR

Hi. I am from a visa-exempt country in EU. I will be in the US in March for about 3 weeks and I was wondering if I can travel from the US to Canada to validate my COPR which is valid till and of April. I can't fly to Canada from the EU because of travel restrictions but since I will be in the US...

    COPR and coronavirus

Thanks. This one says I can't because I don't qualify to travel to Canada from the US. Going to Canada from the US to only validate the copr is not a non-discretionary reason. Correct me if I'm wrong.

    COPR and coronavirus

Hi. My copr is valid till April 2021. I am outside of Canada. However, I will be going to the US in January for about a month. I am aware of travel restrictions however I don't understand what this means exactly: You are exempt from the current travel restrictions and can come to Canada if you...

    PPR delays due to covid-19

you’re currently living in the U.S. and will be coming to Canada directly (transiting through the U.S. to Canada doesn’t apply) What does living mean in this case? What's the definition here? How much time do I have to spend in the US to be considered living?

Yes and no. The fact is newcomers not only take available jobs but they create those. Like me for instance.

    PPR delays due to covid-19

The answer is yet again simple guys. It's all about the money. International students pay huge amounts. PR applicants paid their part and can wait for the pandemic to end and then Canada would like us to help its economy when this is all over.

You said they didn't have to do anything. Then they do stuff like invite more candidates to apply (69950 till now in 2020 - more than 2019) causing themself a huge backlog. Explain to me this logic. Probably to meet their 2020 goal they come up with at the end of 2019, I don't know... I can't do...

    PPR delays due to covid-19

Yep, I agree. They charge for it and we pay for it so we should expect actions from them as paying customers. We are not asylum seekers. We are valuable people (not that asylum seekers may be less of value) that can contribute a lot to any economy and that is worth more than any money.

That's probably because you need to have a valid medicals when you land.

    PPR delays due to covid-19

True. Immigration does contribute to the Canadian economy a lot but fees are designed to cover the processing costs of all applications whether successful or not. Everyone has their own opinion but I personally don't believe Canada is in anyway financing immigration at this point. Hence the lack...
