They did, they asked for our status in the US and a letter confirming that my employer knows that I will resign in the near future to move to Canada. We sent all that to them back in September.

Yes, the 2nd bullet point just means Ankara started processing your application. Your 1-year starts from #1 (Jan 20, 2020).

I did order them and got them in November. Honestly, it's very difficult to find out where the bottleneck is, but it tells you about all the phone calls and follow ups you made, all the documents they requested and you sent them, etc. but nothing I didn't know before.
