Hi Traveler, You don’t need an EIT to claim work experience under a P.Eng. Having an EIT is beneficial because it proves to employers that you meet the academic requirements. It also speeds up your application for P.Eng because they won’t redo your academic review.

I think your mileage may vary, but for me it took 4.5 months to get past the internal review for a P.Eng application. There seems to be a very long queue. I expect it is the same for a non-CEAB EIT application.

I would contact them. After I submitted my application I waited two months without getting a coordinator assigned but as soon as I contacted them one was assigned immediately. It was very frustrating.

Well I guess I can answer my own question. My application has now moved from internal review to experience examiner. There was no email for this transition. Internal review took me 4.5 months.

Has anyone seen their Internal Review status change from In Progress to Complete and then back to In Progress the next day? This happened to me last week. Does APEGA send out an email at the completion of each review stage?

I contacted APEGA the other day to ask for the status of my application which has been showing as in internal review for 3 months. As per their response they are currently processing applications sent to review in May. So the current wait period is 4-5 months before they even start the review.

I don’t imagine it hurts to reach out to APEGA and ask for an update. Based on what I’ve seen on this forum, two months is a long time for experience review.

Sort of. You need to get 65 graded questions correct. The exam has 110 questions, but only 100 or so are actually graded. So you need to get at least 75 questions correct to guarantee passing, but could pass with as few as 65 questions correct.
