not quite sure for visa exempt. I know they definitely get issued COPR but don’t know if they ask for passports for issuing COPR or send it to them. May be someone with similar case on the forum can answer if they got option.

when they request for passports, they give you option to submit in India or Ottawa if they are already in Canada. no impact to their processing and you don’t need to update them on their arrival to Canada.

It stayed under review up until the Passports were stamped by Immigration Office and COPR is issued. Check your email as well as in the Junk folder for Passport Request.. you may also call CIC to know the decision and check if any communication was sent out.

Thanks @bombomdha .. Congratulations .. I am waiting on email from the office now.. if i dont see anything, might have to drive 3+hrs to the border.. Their automated email says, they would respond in 30 days, but ppl have said, they are usually quick in responding in 2-3 days.. so waiting for...

If your parents have property valued $100,000.00 or more it is better to file taxes for them declaring the immovable assets, that way if they decide to bring money after selling property, there would be no issues.. of course any gain in value will be taxable as i understood from fellow members..

Mine is not activated either.. just checked Canada post tracking.. hopefully soon

Yes.. it happened to most of us recently.. the next step is that they will notify via email in a few days... you may call after a day if your file was being processed outside of Canada, as the info is synchronized with a delay and agent can let you know the decision... if you receive email, well...

@jas1989 did your passports get shipped back.. ? looks like mine was approved in the evening time.. as when i logged in, it shows approved on 28-Oct.. @bombomdha when you sent the request for in-land landing to the email, did you use the counterfoil expiry date that we see in the myCIC...

Thanks.. I believe the expiry would be same on the COPR.. May be as soon as I see online, I shall send out an email for inland landing.. if they give an appointment quickly, I won’t go for flagpoling.. it’s a 3 hr drive.. so back and forth will be too tiresome for parents.. but if it is too long...

In my case it took 4 months after passed medical to receive passport request.. but there are many who got it real quick too.. I would say it should be soon enough if they don’t ask for RCMP fingerprints check. youmight also check the tracker sheet.. it does give a fair idea of time it takes on...
