    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

We just got my wife's passport w/ visa back from Buffalo! It only took them 6 business days, as opposed to the 15 days they quoted in the PPR letter. Nice change of pace! We're landing Nov. 9. Hang in there guys, I'm sure there's PPRs headed your way!

So the email for our PPR said most passports are returned within 15 business days. Has that been everyone's experience? Can people who have mailed their passports to Buffalo give some turn around times? Need to figure out flights....

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

Today Buffalo responded to the email I sent on Friday night, and the subject line was our F#! I can use that number to log in to E-CAS with my wife's (the applicant) details for the first time. We've been treating an F# as an AOR, correct? It's no PPR, but I'll take what I can get these days :-).

Thanks for the experience, Stumpedmom. We'll be doing the same thing at the end of September, provided the PPR doesn't come before then. Did you not have any proof of ties to the US, like leases or proof of employment?

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

Tiggilicious, it was just the E-CAS update, no email or letter from Buffalo. We have a client ID # from the Sponsorship Approval letter, but nothing else. Dare I ask what the difference is?

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

Hey all, I was hanging out in the January thread but it's getting awfully quiet over there ::). Even though we sent off our app in January, it wasn't received until Feb 9, so I'm probably more of a February applicant. The whole switch to a new computer system seems awfully inconsistent... we...

Got an ECAS update this morning... "We received <my wife>'s application for permanent residence on March 17, 2011." Is this an AOR already?? I was not expecting anything soon!

    Thread for January 2011 Applicants

Well, I know it's for sponsorship, but I wouldn't call it an approval until we actually get the letter :-). And yeah, technically I'm a February applicant but hey, I've grown rather attached to this thread. Maybe I'll drop in on the February guys from time to time...

    Thread for January 2011 Applicants

Yup. Here's what ECAS says in full: We received your application to sponsor <my wife> on February 9, 2011. We started processing your application on March 9, 2011. We sent you a letter on March 9, 2011 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before...

Decision made!!!!!! E-CAS was active this morning. Application was received Feb. 9 (yikes, I'm springing for overnight next time...). They started processing our app March 9, and sent a decision letter March 9. Going crazy waiting for the letter now :-).

    Thread for January 2011 Applicants

Our application was actually mailed on Jan. 27, not received. For some silly reason I didn't get tracking, but I suspect it arrived around Feb. 3ish. So that explains why we haven't heard anything yet.... hoping for the next couple days though. I guess technically I'm a February applicant :-).

has anyone moved to Canada before Permanent Residency is approved?

Thanks for the experience, TreeLover. We're expecting the sponsorship approval any day now. Baloo, I'm well aware that a visitor is not allowed to move to Canada. But as TreeLover's experience shows, there seems to be a grey area. The IO was aware of the pending application and certainly...
