In GCKey / IRCC my account using sign-in partner, or whatever, if the application status says Updated, yet no obvious or visible changes since last view, then it's commonly known as a "ghost" update. Update without an actual visible change.

There could be so many factors as to why some applications take longer than others, even though IRCC says applications are processed in the order that they're received, unless we have insider insight as to what's going on at the IRCC offices, we can only speculate. Reasons which seem silly but...

The biometrics instruction letter that we got indicates that the letter is proof that we paid the fee. So while it's good that IRCC acknowledged payment, until you get the specific instructions letter it's best to hold off on it. You also need to make an appointment in most places.
