Not true, at least in my case. I'm waiting for over 3 months since medical extension was granted & ADR request. Medicals were extended on the same day as ADR request

Theoretically any occupation that's on the MLTSSL list is 'eligible' for PR. Practically most of these occupations have sky high points with very few spot allocated to each of them. Post COVID I'd say if you're working in any health related occupation, you stand a better chance to get invited...

Well 491 is not PR. It is a visa that gives you a pathway to PR in the future if you satisfy all the conditions. After having lived in Australia for over 8 years, I know a carrot when I see one lol. This is the carrot on a stick that Australian government is dangling to lure potential immigrants...

I'm not a citizen. I'm on my work visa. Permanent immigration to Australia has become very challenging over the last 3 years. Traditional streams to direct permanent residency are basically dead lol. Most people still trying for PR are forced to leave their existing job in the city & move to...

3 months for me since they requested a bunch of ADRs. I'm not sure what's hindering VOs other than Ottawa from processing & finalizing the damn applications. The frustration is getting me angry now. Frankly watching 2021 Q3/Q4 AORs get PPR before the backlog is cleared is insulting.

Me too. Btw is there any difference between eligibility being marked as "passed" by the an agent as opposed to being marked as "recommended passed" by an agent? I always assumed that both the terms are interchangeable & both mean the same since the officer will finally sign off in both...

If you are in M1 or M3 category, you'll mostly likely get an extension. The period of extension depends on the visa officer

People go to Canada & leave because you have US next door lol. People come to Australia & stay because what other comparable economy/ job market is there in this part of the world. NZ? lol

Well Australia for over a decade had a competitive immigration system which favoured inlanders (by giving them extra points for certain years of studies & superior English, etc). But even back then you could see how immigration was treated as a business but at least they were subtle about how...

If your primary is Ottawa then your application is held up at Ottawa. Sydney doesn't have anything to do with it

Sydney means Sydney, Australia. CIO means Sydney, Nova Scotia. My GCMS notes states Sydney as primary & CIO as secondary.

I think your biggest concern with 491 is if you'd indeed get it in the first place. I know the official websites all state in fancy text how they have 3 streams. Theoretically if you have the right occupation code, competitive points & work experience, you have somewhat of a chance. But the...

I hope you've done your research for 491 visa in NSW AUS because speaking from experience that's a bigger gamble than anything Canada is offering at the moment.

I've been living in Australia for almost 7 years now. Australia is great, if you're a citizen/PR. Australia has always been against permanent immigration & COVID has only highlighted it for me. From a migrants perspective, Australia changes its migration criteria faster than kids need their...
