Good news! My wife has arrived safely in Canada a few days ago, PR visa in hand. She went to pickup her visa in Moscow (her passport was already there as she sent it before to save time). Took only 10 minutes and because her visa was already on her passport she didn't have to come back later...

Re: Coming to Canada from Russia A little off-topic :-[ but still useful information worth sharing I think: Airplane tickets from Russia to Canada: I first tried skyscanner.net (http://ca.skyscanner.com/ from Canada) but the flights we wanted (TransAero/Lufthansa) were not available there...

Absolutely! Only $5 and a few minutes to fill. I did it every month to see progress (not much at first). It takes about a month to receive reports so it's always a snapshot of your file 30 days ago or more but still worth it as consulate gives no feedback at all.

Re: OUR VISA IS READY!!!! We hardly could believe our eyes. At 15:00 they sent an email to my wife telling her that visa is ready (her passport was already there). We spent the next 2 hours booking flights, etc. She will be coming next Tuesday! :D It is exactly 7 months to the day since...

Fazimy: congratulations!!! I am happy for both of you. I hope we will also have good news to report soon; this process is starting to get on my nerves quite a bit :-X Donhollio: thanks for the details. BTW here's a nice list (with explanations) of acronyms used in immigration discussions...

Donhollio: I'm sorry, I am trying to understand but I am confused by your post. 1) Your profile says you got AOR Jan 1st 2011 and application received Jan 25. It is usually the other way around. 2) You paid the residence fee (C$490) on June 28? Is it maybe July 28? Voluntarily or after being...

You got POVL? Congrats!! That proves my theory: address disappearing = POVL on the way. So far it worked for 3 of the 4 cases where address disappeared in the last week or so. WE are the 4th case ;) ;D

I think that these numbers are indeed erroneous in some way. OTOH the shortest AOR-POVL time so far was 62 days.

Re: e-CAS address disappearing = POVL? That's what I first thought but researching forums showed me a probable correlation between address disappearance and one of 3 actions above. I think this is due to the fact that the database record is locked during modifications by visa officers. It...

Re: Photos for visa?? To those who received POVL letter from Moscow recently: do they still ask to send additional photos with passport and letter/form to get your PR visa? Russia USED to require additional photos (2) but does not anymore I think. Just checking. Kiev does not require...

Here are some of the BEST times we could compile from the most recent Spousal PR applications who received the POVL from the Moscow visa office. Normally about 2 weeks after being approved as sponsor your e-CAS status should show that documents have been sent to the Moscow visa office. This is when the official countdown for months starts (the now 10 months processing time). Then about 4-6 weeks later the immigrant should receive a...

did the processing time decrease for any embassy?

Kiev went down from 11 to 7 months while Moscow went up from 9 to 10 months even though Moscow visa office has more officers and less (yes less) cases to process than Kiev.

Exactly! This fact should be known on Russian forums as well. People should be aware of this abuse.
