Yes you are not in this long wait. Your background will pass once IRCC receives your fingerprints. It takes about 4-6 weeks after you submit the fingerprints.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I also looked at some other applicants' posts who were in a similar situation. Basically it takes about 8-10 months for background completion after AOR.

I am a July AOR applicant, and the test completed in August, fingerprints were received by IRCC in September. Still waiting for background clearance. There is an old thread regarding this situation...

It should be okay, try getting GCMS notes. It will show if the criminality part of background is passed or no. If it is passed they won’t ask for fingerprints.

I combed through all the similar cases that have already received their citizenship, normally it takes about 8-10 months for background and lpp to complete after fingerprint verification. Few cases are pending more than that.

Yes, the background is in progress, Fingerprints were received by IRCC in September, and updated on the tracker but the background still is in progress. that got me worried. How about you?

I think many applicants are still waiting. In my case only the test has been completed, everything else is in progress. AOR was in July! now I am mentally preparing for 17 months of processing time posted on IRCC's website. I don't even have any complicated travel, work or visa history.

It’s for everyone, some applicants passes through it quickly and some have to wait longer. That’s why I said stuck at security screening step.

I am looping in @dpenabill to this thread. Hoping to get their advice on this situation. I feel like applicants whose background still stays in progress even after fingerprints received by IRCC, might be stuck at security screening.

For most FP requests, background check is passed one day after the FP is received by IRCC. Background not passed after FP receipt was my concern and I have seen quite a few applicants in this situation. But anyway looks like it was my name that triggered it, I have a very common name :)

Just before my 30 days window expiry date, I sent a web form to inform IRCC about my fingerprints with an attachment, the Fingerprints receipt from the fingerprints agency. They replied the next day with an acknowledgment email saying information has been updated to my file.

I guess they meant to say citizenship test completed.

I feel like sending a message to them through webform and asking clarification on what is the meaning of “we will review it shortly” what’s the timeline lol. I don’t know why a government agency uses such vague terminology.
