    July 2019 - Citizenship Applicants

In myt virtual ceremony, EVERYONE butchered the French version, and there was no issue, they were just laughing, Its not a problem so long as you can say it in English after.

There were maybe 15 other candidates taking the oath with me. You will do all the administrative stuff in a zoom chat by yourself with a clerk, and then be transferred into a group zoom with the judge and other candidates to take the oath.

    July 2019 - Citizenship Applicants

Hi everyone, I had my citizenship ceremony via Zoom last Friday. It was very short and very efficient. I was sent a Zoom link via email a week beforehand, so I logged in at the specified time, where I was connected to a clerk who confirmed my details. I then was sent into a room with a judge...

    July 2019 - Citizenship Applicants

Did my test on Dec 14th in Scarborough, profile said 'decision made' the next day, but still waiting for oath invitation. Baffled how some people get invites the next day, but I'm going on 3 months waiting. I don't think there is any logic behind it!!

Been waiting over two months with still no oath letter, so hang in there... Think Scarborough is slow to process.

    July 2019 - Citizenship Applicants

Honestly I feel like it depends on the officer you have. I had a similar thing happen in my interview, where my officer went through every stamp in my passport (including ones from many years before I moved to Canada), which was unnecessary. Also, I'm Irish, and go back to visit a lot, but I...

    July 2019 - Citizenship Applicants

Email only. That is the notice by mail they mean, it's just worded confusingly.

    July 2019 - Citizenship Applicants

Both. You will receive an email, but also your online status will change and the details of when you will be invited to do your test will appear.

    July 2019 - Citizenship Applicants

On the off-chance anyone doesn't get citizenship, I'm wondering does anyone know how soon they would send the letter of refusal after the test/interview?

There are signs up in the exam centre listing them as items you need to bring, but I did not get asked for landing papers in my interview. Just my passport, two forms of ID, my test invite letter, and a form they will give you to fill out in the test centre on the day.

    July 2019 - Citizenship Applicants

Update: My status has changed to 'Decision Made' as of yesterday (Dec 16), but have yet to receive email or letter to let me know which decision that is!

    July 2019 - Citizenship Applicants

So I just sat my test this morning in Scarborough (test was easy, got 19/20), and afterward, had my interview with a citizenship officer. She went through every page of my passport to tick off my list of absences from Canada that I provided in my initial application. However, she was very...

    July 2019 - Citizenship Applicants

Hi, I received my test invite yesterday (December 3) to take the test on December 14th. This seems really short notice, and I only received my 'In Process' notification on November 19th, so fingers crossed they are fast-tracking my application for some reason! :D
