Enter Canada via land border using COPR

The guy processing me said they'd mail to the US... THEY WILL NOT! I gave them an address of a friend in BC and they sent it there and they UPS'd it to me.

    Portal invite..?

Hi I did a soft landing in March and haven't received an email for the PR portal...which I thought I was supposed to get. I also haven't been able to change my address via webform. Any advice? Heading back north next month and would love to have my card...can I cross with my approved COPR? Thanks

    Address Change not reflected

Hi I did a soft landing in March, but didn't have an address for the card. I arranged for a mail drop and submitted the address change via the status page. It's been weeks and anytime I log in to see the status it shows that I landed in March but no other updates and still shows my address as...

Back and forth across land border?

Where did you have your PR card sent? The guy that processed me said they'd send it to my US address but I've read otherwise. Another PR on here landed last weekend and they were told the same thing. You've just been using the CoPR to cross?

    OK...now what? CoPR complete!

Thanks! Where did you land? That's what the guy told me too, but this says different. Did you specificallly ask? My guys said they would, but I dunno if he was on auto-pilot. https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=061&top=10

    OK...now what? CoPR complete!

Did a soft landing via land crossing last weekend and returned to the US. Now what? I logged into IRCC account and can see the status updated to that date. Am I looking out for an email from IRCC for next steps etc? The border guard that processed me didn't know. Thanks

    Soft landing in Emerson

Update: We made the sprint north because the weather was good. ;) We scheduled the covid tests (hours later we found out they were dropping that in a couple of weeks, of course) and got them Friday morning in Fargo and drove to Emerson. The border guy was kind of a hassle. I handed him our...

    Soft landing in Emerson

We're not ready to pull up stakes in the US, but COPR expires at months end(thanks for COVID process delays). We were going to just head north and land at the border crossing in Emerson/Pembina and turnaround and come back to finish getting ready. Has anyone crossed there? Thanks

    PCR testing and ArriveCan application

@sunnydevil Did you do a soft land? If so, how did it go? We're looking at doing one, very soon. Thanks!

    Citizenship by decent, for dependents

Yep. OK, interesting information. We've seen reasons both ways. We're figuring if they dropped them from the PR application he must qualify for citizenship. Now do we apply for a certificate or "regular" citizenship application? We still need to get up there before the CoPR expires, for me...

    Citizenship by decent, for dependents

Spouse received citizenship by decent in 1997. Our child was born in 2005. IRCC dropped them from the PR application stating they have a claim to Canadian citizenship. Prior research indicated there was no path to citizenship. Confusion reigns... :/

Back and forth across land border?

Groovy, thanks! We're hoping to just head to the border at ND, "land" and head home. I'm reading differing info on getting the PR card. But I just want to get established before the CoPR expires.... Thanks!

    Citizenship by decent, for dependents

I'm approved for PR and my spouse has citizenship by decent. When we applied for PR for myself and the kid, we were told our child was NOT eligible for citizenship. I received my CoPR but not one for our child. IRCC had apparently sent a letter saying they were dropped from the application as...

    US Border soft landing/turnaround

Anyone done their landing with CoPR, via a US border crossing? Either a soft landing or quick turnaround, specifically, but any info is helpful. Received my CoPR after a 2+ year wait but for some reason it expires in March, giving us 7 months to getting ourselves situated to get from TX to NS...

Back and forth across land border?

YMMH- Let me know how it goes! Received our CoPR, after a 2+ year wait and for some reason it expires in March. We're in TX but thinking about heading for a turnaround/soft landing before then just to get it done. No way we can get pulled out of here before March and DO NOT want to drive to...

CoPR - Just received it and the window is short! I have questions....

After almost 2 years, I received my CoPR papers. We applied March of 2019 and the portal said we were on track for March of 2020. Then, COVID shut the world down. Early summer of 2021, a rep called and asked some questions and told us we were good to go. We received the request for photos and...
