****SEPTEMBER 2018**** OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP OUTSIDE OF CANADA

Hi there, 1) COPR is essentially a stamp that you get in your passport that serves as proof to the border officer that the process is complete. It allows you to declare yourself as a PR. In terms of process, when the background check is complete and you've been approved, you'll get an email...

****SEPTEMBER 2018**** OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP OUTSIDE OF CANADA

Hi there, actually it generally means you have passed eligibility, i.e. that your marriage is considered genuine, and that you met all other requirements apart from the background check. An applicant can still be rejected at this point based on their background check/security screening, etc.

    Got Passport Request - Question

Hi all, We very fortunately received passport request for my spouse. Her nationality is Syrian and the VO we were assigned to was Paris. We applied 13 September 2018 and received PPR on 4 October 2019. In the PPR, the VO has asked to ensure that the passport provided for the COPR is valid for...

****SEPTEMBER 2018**** OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP OUTSIDE OF CANADA

Hi all, First let me express my gratitude for all the support this forum has provided. It has been literally invaluable in understanding the process from start to end, and all the little (frustrating) nuances in between. So, thank you! Happy to report that we received PPR today. We applied 13...

What to do 7 months and biometrics letter not received

We're in the security screening/background check now. We submitted the police certificate some time ago and then it was silence for a number of months, and so I'm assuming that the biometrics is all that's left before we get the yes or no. VO: Paris

What to do 7 months and biometrics letter not received

Biometrics has been the last stage in the process for me and my wife as well. It came literally three weeks before we hit the 1-year mark, and we were given 30 days to do it. So yeah, the process does't seem to follow any normal order - you'll get it eventually.

****August 2018***** OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP OUTSIDE OF CANADA

Congratulations on your COPR and sincere condolences on the passing of your family member. Hoping you do indeed get to enjoy a Christmas with your family in Canada, if a bittersweet one. From what I understand (I'm no expert), you will need to wait about 45 days to get your PR card after you've...

Can we submit biometrics in Canada for a PR app?

Hi everyone, Thanks in advance for all your assistance. This forum has been really, really helpful and we really appreciate all the content. I'm a Canadian citizen and I sponsored my wife under spousal sponsorship last September (2018). Our application is being processed out of Paris. We've...

    Spousal sponsorship

Yes, so on GCKey once the medical is passed, it will change to say this. They'll take some time to process it still. Best wishes.

    Spousal sponsorship

It takes quite a while to process the medical exam in general. Most applicants wait for 3 months before getting some kind of acknowledgement. Are you linked to GCKey? It will say on there if you have passed the medical exam. I don't think it tells you on Ecas.

****SEPTEMBER 2018**** OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP OUTSIDE OF CANADA

Hey there, In essence it means that your relationship has been assessed as genuine, which is great. It's apparently the last step within the process insofar as IRCC is concerned, however the background check (BGC) is likely underway at this point. The BGC includes criminality check (typically...
