Did everyone get ghost update today on Oct 27 ?

I also got a ghost update on Oct 27th. I applied in Jan, completed test in April and no news since then. This is a paper application with a minor. I just don't understand what's taking them so long. What's more frustrating is that my friend, who applied online in August, just had his oath...

    ***NOVEMBER 2019 INLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP***

I got a question from a friend. He's a PR for 3 years now and he's been sponsored by his dad to come to Canada. He would like to sponsor his wife now. Is he eligible to be a sponsor? I ask because I saw that people who were previously sponsored and are pr less than 5 years can't be sponsors...

We got eligibility passed for both sponsor and the PI on Oct 13. Nov 25 applicants. Just now the PI got an email that the status of application is updated but we can't access the online system. On IRCC website it says that they're having cyber attacks. Do you think that could be the decision...

No, you don't need to upload anything for family sponsorship. We didn't upload anything and after 10 days saw that medical was passed.

I'm following a FB group on this topic and it seems that early October applicants started receiving COPR. Most of them did their medical in February or March. Do you think that there's a chance for us to receive good news sooner (1-2 months) after we pass medical or are there some long processes...

You can apply for SIN with your open work permit. You can also apply if you e.g. have only student visa but it allows you to work part time. These SINs are only temporary though.

Thanks! We applied yesterday, hopefully he'll get the SIN soon. Not that there are many jobs left due to covid-19, but at least he has a chance ;)

Hey everyone. Does anyone know how to apply online for SIN? I checked the website numerous times and it always says that this service is unavailable and that we should apply by mail. I don't want to send originals via mail, so would prefer online application if possible. Did anyone have experience?

6 months after the landing just expired in late March, but we applied for the extension before the expiry so he had implied status when we got the decision on OWP

Yes, he had visitor status when we applied; he came by plane but no stamp in his passport. I sent them an inquiry about this a week ago and they said that delays are expected because of the covid-19, and that they'll let us know when they finish processing the application.

I sent inquiry to IRCC about my husband's OWP (we applied on Nov 25), and they said they're experiencing delays due to covid-19: "Due to the ongoing situation related to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), some IRCC offices are currently operating with reduced or critical staff only. We are...

Thanks for your response. Yes, he arrived by plane, and he got an exit stamp from our home country (it can be seen in the pages I copied and sent to IRCC, and since that was his new passport, that's the only stamp in it, so button don't think they missed it), but no entry stamp at the airport in...

We submitted PR + OWP on Nov 25, 2019, and 4 month mark just passed, so do you think it would make sense to call/email about it, or just wait? My husband had visitor status at the time of application and we applied for the extension a month ago just in case OWP is not approved.
