    COVID-19 and CoPR/PRV extension !

It is indeed nice to see a fellow immigrant from Taiwan as well. I am having my self isolation downtown right now, so far so good, fingers crossed that I don't run into other peculiar scenarios.

    COPR and coronavirus

I went with Save on Food, because Instacart doesn't take foreign credit card but save on food does. Give it a try, I ordered yesterday and arrived today.

    COPR and coronavirus

Indeed, the Canada end is pretty chill about letting people in as long as its within their current policy!

    COPR and coronavirus

I am in Canada now after the 2nd attempt, here is my story which I also shared on the other thread for anyone who is interested. (My COPR was issued before Mar 18th and valid when I travel) I tried again 2 days later and I am now in Canada. The check in was still horrible, let me share my...

    COVID-19 and CoPR/PRV extension !

Oh and I didn't speak to CBSA directly, I am now suspecting they weren't speaking to CBSA at all, maybe just discussing among themselves only...

    COVID-19 and CoPR/PRV extension !

Indeed, I tried again 2 days later and I am now in Canada. The check in was still horrible, let me share my story. So after the first attempt, I cancelled my round trip ticket and purchased a one way ticket and give it another go. The airline I flew with was EVA. So this time I came prepared...

    COPR and coronavirus

The airline told me CBSA inform them that my travel is not considered essential... (my copr is valid still and issued before Ma 18th) I was completely shocked as well. And yes, whats the point of one way ticket when I can buy another one way ticket if I need in Canada. I will try again...

    COPR and coronavirus

Yeah I think the round trip ticket is what ticks CBSA, but logically its a year round open ticket and I do plan to visit my parents at some point especially during the lunar new year period of time. And yes, airlines are required to check with CBSA before they issue a boarding pass. I just...

    COVID-19 and CoPR/PRV extension !

I get it, it's almost next to impossible to get a job offer like that. I can also understand if I were the employer, it would be difficult for me to extend a job offer if I have not actually interviewed the candidate in person. Things are just really tricky now and not exactly consistent...

    COVID-19 and CoPR/PRV extension !

Yes, my COPR was issued before March 18th... so this is the part that gets me. While they encourage ppl to move and settle down but we havent had any instruction of how to "prove" we are moving permanently... so...

    COVID-19 and CoPR/PRV extension !

indeed it sucks, flight should be ok with refund. I am actually from Taiwan, so eTA is actually not required for landing as an immigrant. This purely a judgement made by the CBSA, I am not quite sure how to convince them that’s all.

    COPR and coronavirus

Hi just sharing my experience which took place 2 hours ago, I had a round trip ticket, and I was denied to board the plane cuz airline has to call CBSA for each foreign passengers. I am guess it’s the round trip ticket that caused the denial to board. I am rather annoyed, cuz yes soft landing is...

    COVID-19 and CoPR/PRV extension !

Hi guys! I was not able to board the flight, the check in counter had to pre-screen with CBSA. I had my valid COPR, 14 day self isolation hotel booked, proof of fund and that I will be staying with my friends afterwards as I settle down in Canada. However, CBSA wants to see if I have any...

    COVID-19 and CoPR/PRV extension !

Hi all, I think everyone here is considering a soft landing and apparently someone on the other thread was told that they cannot leave without PR card. Given the time to issue PR card now, it could be 3 months before we can leave Canada? Any thoughts...

    COPR and coronavirus

Hi thanks for sharing the information with us that are thinking to do a soft landing, was it the immigration that actively told you that you are not allowed to leave without the PR card? Thank you so much, this may change how I plan ahead!

    COVID-19 and CoPR/PRV extension !

I am in the same boat too, my COPR will expire on Aug 6th and I have not raised a webform either (it also seems that we don‘t need to raise one anymore??) It has always been my plan to do a soft landing, especially now with the uncertainty that the pandemic brings. Also, I am located in Taiwan...

    Express Entry Upfront Medical

Hello all, I am just wondering if anyone runs into the same issue as I did with upfront medical. I am at the stage where I am submitting all my supporting documents and the upfront medical exam is listed as "required". However, the panel physician here (Taiwan) did not have a choice of...
