It says exception is only for immediate family members of Canadian citizens, it does not mention family of PR is excluded
I think if you boarded before the ban, you may be allowed. My wife was allowed to board the plane (after some argument) and her flight lands after noon tomorrow, but I think she should be good.
Ask your airline though, because there is some discrepancy in policies. And if you have proof that...
My wife also got her boarding pass and will board the plane in some time. They made her wait for an hour while they got approval and sorted our their policy. Then they allowed her after they got confirmation that husband was Canadian citizen.
My wife has her COPR and is boarding in 5 hours. I asked her to print a copy of my passport (I am Cdn citizen) so I really hope she should be allowed to enter Canada as her flight lands after 12noon March 18 EST
My wife received her COPR just now
However Trudeau just announced they are banning entry to non-citizens
not even sure what this means for people travelling with COPR
some people get PPR along with DM
so there is no consistency at all.
I just wish my wife gets COPR soon because COVID 19 is spreading around the world and governments might start banning travel.
Prearrival means they accpet the relationship is genuine and the applicant is eligible to enter Canada.
It however does not mean applicant is admissible to Canada.. for that, the applicant needs to clear background check. After than decision is made
its all in my signature
