PR application - work on it alone or with a lawyer?

It totally depends on how complicated your case is. In my case, my wife and I decided to do it ourselves it all turned out well in the end. Frankly speaking, my case was simple enough so it’s only a matter of gathering all the documents, the rest is pretty straightforward. It certainly took...

Just an update. Me and my wife are inland FSW applicants Vancouver office, CoPR on May 20, 2020. I got approved on July 29 and received the card 3 days later. My wife was more stressful because we couldn't link her application so we had no idea where it went. Today we called IRCC and got...

Ray of Hope - 119th Draw

As an inland applicant, I will need to object point 5. It's super hard to get an LMIA even if you got out of a Canadian school. You would need to be cream of the crop to be promised a LMIA from your employer. LMIA is a very transparent and tedious process which most companies usually avoid.

Ray of Hope - 119th Draw

I think you still have a pretty good chance. This time's draw is an anomaly because of backlogs. Until July we might see some significant decrease in score.

It seems it will be difficult to raise your points higher unless you apply for an actual cert course. I'm quoting from the CRS tool calculator: Note: to answer yes: 4b) Have you earned a Canadian degree, diploma or certificate: English or French as a Second Language must not have made up more...

Ray of Hope - 119th Draw

An online certificate would certainly help in job searching and increase your chance to land a job here but I'm not quite sure about whether it would boost your points. It would need to fall into certain criteria to be considered valid for points as well. Do you mind to share your current points...

Ray of Hope - 119th Draw

You will get it for sure. It has a few hours delay and not all at once. I just got it a few minutes ago. 474 points here. Overall, I would say a lot of graduates from Canadian schools coming out in Apr-May, so a lot of high points in the pool. A Canadian Master degree+ 1 year of work...

    PGWP extension flagpoling experience

Same story here. We went to Boundary Bay in hope that it would work out if we begged them. But the officer turned us away and said it could only be done online and if we insisted, he could have made the application anyway but would ultimately result in a refusal without fail.

Ray of Hope - 118th Draw

I did put “around” before the number but you are right, next time I will put it 2002 to make it a more accurate estimation. It’s hard on me since I’m not that good at calculation so I don’t know how many could be added :(.

Ray of Hope - 118th Draw

That’s why it’s an estimation. No one knows for sure how many more were added since then, obviously.

Ray of Hope - 118th Draw

They issue 3350 invitations for each draw. So taking into account around 2000 people in the pool right now with more than 450 pts who will definitely get ITA the next draw, the rest will compete for the remaining 1350.

Ray of Hope - 118th Draw

With more than 35,000 people within 401-450 and almost 2,000 from 451 upward, I would say anyone below 450 will need to compete for the last 1,350 slots. My guess is the cut-off will not go down lower than 445 at least until August. By then, another wave of Canadian-based students graduated will...

IELTS BAND 8 - CRS SCORE 401 can i apply?

I don't think so. 401 is quite low for the current average of around 44x-45x. I don't believe it will ever go down that low either. You'd better try to get that writing to 7 for better chance.
