Yes. Yes it is. The process needs to be more transparent. There needs to be someway to allow spouses to be together while the applications are processing. Most countries in the G7, if not all, have financé visas but Canada. There are easier solutions to this catastrophe of an immigration system.

After COVID, I truly believe Canada should leave immigration matters up to the provinces. Canada was not prepared to deal with this crisis especially with respect to immigration. My province has no COVID cases and has outperformed many of its counterparts, yet my wife and I cannot be reunited...

Six months is a long time though... The Government of Canada have taken exceptional precautionary measures (i.e., staff working from home until at least the fall...) especially in comparison to provincial governments and private industry who can't afford such drastic inefficiencies and measures...

I think it might partially be due to the fact that they want to interview some applicants but cannot say anything at this time since they still don't have any direction yet.

My MP emailed me an update on July 15th.

My wife's PR application was received by IRCC in August. Her criminality check is still in progress and her background check hasn't even been initiated. The universe most definitely isn't fair.
