I applied July 15 and got passport request July 17. Passport received today at CPC-O according to Canada Post. I think there was a system upgrade in June that might have led to the delays. Normally it shouldn't take that long. But don't quote me on that. It's just my guess.

I couldn't wait so I called them and asked about my OWP application status. If there is a W application number on file that they can give you, you should be able to link the OWP application.

Congrats! I don't expect that the application includes the TRV counterfoil actually. If it's included, they will need to ask for passport submission to stamp the TRV and it should appear in the application document list on GCKey. Seems like TRV needs to be applied separately then.

Thanks. No my OWP application could only be linked over a week after AOR. And I needed to call in to get the application number to be able to link.

Does ECAS work for you now? I see my application on ECAS first, and then I can link GCKey afterwards, then get AOR. Maybe if you use the sponsor's info on ECAS you will be able to find it, but I didn't know the sponsor's UCI until AOR, so if you know maybe that's something you can try. And...

Same AOR date as you, but still waiting for OWP now. Patiently waiting at the moment. :)

To us it's a matter of life changing experience, but to them it's just another day in the office working through never ending piles of documents. I find that we really need to adjust ourselves or else we will burn ourselves out really soon in this waiting game.

I think it's going to work the same way as you applied for your TRV when you extended your study permit. It doesn't make sense that your study permit extension or open work permit is approved but an inland TRV app refused. Study permits and work permits applied outside of Canada are always...

Sorry just saw the message. I pressed 2-1-1-0 for an agent. This is for spousal PR but they are able to help with the OWP that being tagged along.

Yeah, and plus it will be an inland application that is going to be processed by CPC Ottawa, verses a normal TRV app would be processed at a VO abroad. That could make a difference if you are from a 'hard country'.

I don't think it matters that much because when you have an open work permit in hand, you have status in Canada, and having a Canadian spouse shouldn't be grounds for rejecting a TRV. It should be the same for people who hold student permits or other work permits. But that's my understanding of...

Try to put a space after all the open entries that you entered. Like "2<space>" instead of "2". That worked for me when I linked my PR application.

Congrats!!! That's nice to hear. As for me, I called this morning and they said they still haven't entered my OWP case onto the system yet. I am going to call them everyday until I can at least link my application.
