Are you sure Validity Date is not 05/07/2018? It's usually one year. My medical expired on Aril 20. It became you do not need a medical exam in early June and got extended yesterday. I'm an inland CEC applicant.

I usually ask if there is any updates on my file. Has my Medical been extended? Has my eligibility passed? Has my security passed etc.... The more detailed your question is the better they can help you.

I spoke to an agent over the phone. I always try to call at least every two weeks to follow up. If you cannot connect, just try to call again at a different time.
