I applied on paper. I got my passport back with a small note in it that important information regarding my application has been sent to the email I provided on my application. I'm yet to receive any mail

But how will I know the basis for the rejection?

I got totvfs today to get my passport back. On opening it, I saw a small note from Canada embassy saying "important information regarding your application has been sent to the email address you provided on your application". I did not get any decision from them. Can anybody help me clarifications?
