It took me approximately 3 months to get the pre arrival service and DM after MR received by CIC/

yes better renew it, as IRCC need at 6 months of the passport to be active when issuing COPR Renew and update on the web form

from the trend i note from previous applicants in this forum, 2 to 3weeks and they say on their letter to please wait for 1 month before contacting them after sending the passports.
