Is there usually a delay in OCI application status update on BLS website? For my application BLS still shows Processing at Consulate General" whereas OCI tracking website shows "Processed on Aug 25th" with details of my OCI number

that should be Canadian passport's validity . Wouldn't you have surrendered your Indian Passport before submitting application for OCI? If it is surrendered it is no longer valid travel document

I created one pdf of indian passport (first and last page) + surrender certificate and uploaded it to Indian passport option

They didn't keep any originals but did ask for it to authenticate the copies and returned them on the spot.

I submitted same day as well and I see OCI application acknowledgment dated today.

I opted for In-person and no further questions asked :)

I wasn't able to track on passport site or passport seva login since BLS helped me with form corrections and had to initiate new form via their login. I was able to track on BLS site though so that was helpful.

Unfortunately I don't have this application # linked to my passport seva login. Reason being BLS corrected some details and initiated a new application form for me.

For my passport surrender application submitted July 10th BLS tracker says "processing at consulate general" but passport seva portal says "Entered Application reference number can not be tracked" Does it usually take time for application to be updated on passport seva website?

Just state you surname in "Surname (last name)" field; your first name plus middle name in "Given names field".

But to get an entry visa, the checklist on CGI Toronto website states surrender certificate is mandatory. So I think one can only apply for surrender certificate while in India and then work through OCI process once back in Canada
