Validity of implied status after applying for PGWP, with unintentional unauthorized work

An update for anyone in the future who stumbles this thread: my application got approved. If you are caught in the same unfortunate situation, I think the best path is to be honest, upfront and apologetic about it in your letter of explanation.

Post Graduate Work Permit Processing Time (PGWP)

You do not need to have worked for six months to qualify. Your employment situation will have to be longer than six months, so you just need to get a letter from your employer that states that you will be employed full-time for at least the next six months. So really the waiting time is only 3...

    6th july ielts gt, anybody?

I don't know if there is much that I can tell you beyond what is written in a lot of IELTS prep books. I'll share what I think are important factors in writing. 1. Logical flow and paragraphing. How well do your ideas connect and transition? When I'm reading a sentence, I will have some...

    6th july ielts gt, anybody?

    L - 9, R - 9, W - 7, S - 8 They mark writing very harshly I guess. Happy that I won't have to drop a lot of money to do this crap again.

IELTS July 6th (GT) North America Answers

L - 9, R - 9, W - 7, S - 8 I was expecting a 7.5 on writing, but I guess they just mark that fairly harsh. I can't complain since it gets me the points for being a CLB 9 or higher. Happy with the rest and happy that I won't have to do this again.

Post Graduate Work Permit Processing Time (PGWP)

When does your passport expire? Was the course officially designated as taking 2 years to complete or did it take you two years to complete? Was it a full 2 years?

Post Graduate Work Permit Processing Time (PGWP)

You can flagpole for your PGWP. McGill has some instructions for it here: https://www.mcgill.ca/internationalstudents/work/post-graduation-work-permit My friend did it at peace bridge last month successfully. Although the CBSA agents told my friend they only processed his permit because he had...

***** IMMEDIATE HELP REQUIRED********Can I do an internship during my study permit?

Maybe include this information in your original post when asking the question instead of being passive aggressive when someone tries to help you based on the limited information you chose to provide? The best you could possibly do is to ask your institution to make the work a part of a coop...

***** IMMEDIATE HELP REQUIRED********Can I do an internship during my study permit?

During a regularly scheduled break (e.g. summers), you may work full-time on your study permit. If it's during a regular school semester, then you may work under a coop work permit if coops are considered a part of your program by your educational institution. Otherwise, your only option would...

Post Graduate Work Permit Processing Time (PGWP)

June 10. It'll be a while until I get a decision. I saw through your post history and I don't think you should be worried in your case. Coop semesters are considered full-time if they were part of your program; failed courses do not really affect eligibility for PGWP either. As long as you...

Post Graduate Work Permit Processing Time (PGWP)

I'm going to guess because it is summer time now, IRCC agents are beginning to take their vacations to spend time with their kids. Applications are likely being processed slower as a result.

Validity of implied status after applying for PGWP, with unintentional unauthorized work

For anyone in a similar situation: I called IRCC earlier just to confirm that I can work under my implied status after the brief period of unauthorized work on-campus and the agent I spoke to said it is fine. I also submitted a question through the web form, just to make certain and have it in...

Validity of implied status after applying for PGWP, with unintentional unauthorized work

Thanks for that - it's quite reassuring. I asked the question because I was looking at this link: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/work/after-graduation/after-you-apply.html And it has a point that says you can work if you "were eligible to work...
