Just to clarify on point 2) - you don't need to have been working for six months, you just need to show that your employer plans on employing you for at least 6 months. The best way to prove this is to ask your employer (once you've found one) to write you a letter clearly outlining that they...

****January 2020 - Inland Spousal PR + OWP****

Yep, also seeing some December folks in their WhatsApp getting OWP this weekend without having given biometrics. Good sign!

****January 2020 - Inland Spousal PR + OWP****

Seeing as the only folks who are getting OWPs approved seem to be people who have previously given Biometrics, does this mean people who have not are completely out of luck? Has anyone been able to get confirmation from an IRCC agent as to whether they are approving OWPs for people without...

December 2019 Inland Spousal Application (With or Without OWP)

Unfortunately, the Service Ontario rep was misinformed. AOR isn't enough to get OHIP - you need to have AIP in order to qualify. You can qualify before AIP once you have an OWP and a full-time job. Please see here for more info...

December 2019 Inland Spousal Application (With or Without OWP)

No way to get OHIP unit she has OWP + full-time job or until your eligibility as a sponsor has been approved. However, in Ontario, Midwives are free of charge to any residents even if they don't have OHIP, so I'd highly suggest contacting one if your spouse is pregnant.

December 2019 Inland Spousal Application (With or Without OWP)

Was your OWP recently approved? If so, when was your application received date? Just want to get an idea of whether OWPs are getting approved or not...

Yes, it looks like they took it down this morning with no explanation - IRCC's incompetence continues. Here is a screenshot from when it was up:

December 2019 Inland Spousal Application (With or Without OWP)

Hey all - another update: it looks like they've just announced today that temporary residence applications are now EXEMPT from biometrics due to COVID-19. There has been a lot of speculation that this is what has been holding up OWP's, as the requirement for biometrics for work permits only...

Hi all - wanted to share that we received our Medical Request today. Would MUCH rather have OWP than this, but at least there are some things happening... Application Received: January 22, 2020 AOR: March 14, 2020 Biometrics Letter: June 23, 2020 Medical Request: July 14, 2020

December 2019 Inland Spousal Application (With or Without OWP)

Wanted to share some info around this update: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/news/notices/ircc-resumes-processing-1-july-2020.html I called IRCC today and asked whether the OWP submitted with the Inland PR App was considered a paper work permit application and, thus...

****January 2020 - Inland Spousal PR + OWP****

I called IRCC today and asked this very question. The agent put me on hold for a few minutes and then said that Inland OWPs are considered part of the Permanent Residence application, NOT a separate paper work permit application. Therefore, they would fall under this part of the IRCC's update...

December 2019 Inland Spousal Application (With or Without OWP)

I share your frustration. The only thing I'd suggest is to have your wife email your MP, as well as the Minister of Immigration Marco Mendicino (Minister@cic.gc.ca) to express your concern and ask for something to be done.

****January 2020 - Inland Spousal PR + OWP****

The last person to be approved on the Google Sheet was a December 9th applicant so they are still a ways away from approving January applicants.

December 2019 Inland Spousal Application (With or Without OWP)

I'd love to find out what's happening too. They seemed to have hit a decent stride and were approving ~4-6 per week according to the Google Sheet and then they just dropped off a cliff with only 2 getting approved last week and zero this week so far. It's incredibly frustrating.

****January 2020 - Inland Spousal PR + OWP****

A month is very optimistic at this point. Taking a look at the November and December OWP approvals, the approval capacity per week seems to have been cut by more than half, and the average days between application received and OWP approval is increasing by about 5 days every week, with the most...

****January 2020 - Inland Spousal PR + OWP****

Things seem to have slowed down considerably, but as of now, they are still processing applications. No one from December 2019 has received OWP yet so I suspect it'll still be a while for January applicants.

I just linked my OWP today as well and have the same classification of "online application" FYI, so that must just be how it shows up.
