Ray of Hope - 155th Draw

It should be a CEC draw tomorrow and I pray that you get an ITA. I think you have a heart of gold as you've been encouraging and rooting for FSWs even when CEC draws would be more beneficial for you. Such selflessness is a rarity. You are so deserving of a happy ending and I really hope you get it.

Ray of Hope - 155th Draw

I think that is an excellent idea and in your case, just an extra 4 points will be more than enough. You need to be at least a B1 to get any points - that is the equivalent of CLB 5. Each B1 score gets you 1 point. So assuming you get a B1 for each of the disciplines (i.e. speaking, listening...

Ray of Hope - 155th Draw

I hope you don't leave the forum. You always provide such useful info and are a source of positivity. Let's wait and see what happens in 2 weeks' time. It just might be an all-program draw and that should give hope to the 460s. Alternatively, you're only 5 points away from 470. Why not start...

Ray of Hope - 155th Draw

On the bright side, the pool hasn't massively increased. In fact, it's staying pretty stable at around 21 - 22k. I find that pretty encouraging. Regarding the PNP draw, I'm pretty sure there will be a CEC draw tomorrow and maybe the plan is to alternate program-specific and all-program draws...

    TEF :(

Hi, the writing part has 2 sections. For Section A you are given an opening paragraph for a story and you then have to complete the story with between 80 - 100 words. Note that you must not exceed 100 words. Section B is the letter part. You are given a statement (e.g. social media is harmful)...

    Ray of hope - FSW - 1

I'm not arguing with anyone; I'm just offering an opinion like everyone else. Everyone on this forum is speculating so don't single me out and tell me to "chill." I am chill.

    Ray of hope - FSW - 1

I think you just may be right. I dug up the EE pool breakdown from some old Ray of Hope threads (draws 139 and 141) and compared it to the current pool and the number of people in the pool has more or less remained static since March. Compared to last year when the pool size was increasing at an...

    Ray of hope - FSW - 1

Thanks for the info. Looks like they are choosing people from the tech and financial sectors these days. Also looks like they don't accept anywhere near the level of immigrants that Canada does... :/

Try ICAS too. I recall reading in a few forums that they are less narrow-minded than WES but be warned that they take ages. Whatever they claim is their current processing time, you can expect to wait 2 - 3 months more.

    Ray of hope - FSW - 1

You don't need C1 - just a high B2. Assuming you're a complete beginner, you should be able to do it in a year if you're committed. B2 will give you 42 points and C1 54 points.

    Ray of hope - FSW - 1

Aren't you taking TEF? If so, maybe worth doing that before calling it a day? I doubt you'll regret the efforts you've made so far should this whole Canada thing not work out. But I think you'd regret not doing everything in your power to get the ITA and always wonder "what if?" I know how...

Ray of Hope - 150th Draw - CEC

I actually think you are right Priyanka. French is not as hard as a lot of people think, especially if you are fluent in English. The more you learn, the more you see that a lot of English words are derived from French words and so by knowing English you are at a distinct advantage. I highly...

Ray of Hope - 150th Draw - CEC

I can only speak to TEF as that is what I have taken and sadly it's only an upper B2 level that get's you the 42 points. You can see here the TEF scores and the NCLC level: https://www.lefrancaisdesaffaires.fr/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Correspondance-Niveaux-NCLC-scores-TEF-CANADA.pdf You'll...

Ray of Hope - 150th Draw - CEC

Depends on whether you are a total beginner or have studied it before. I studied French in secondary school up to A-level but that was 15 years ago. Since leaving school I took French classes on and off but nothing intense. I started studying French seriously around July 2019 and I believe my...

Ray of Hope - 143rd Draw - CEC

Thanks for the response. This certainly explains why they are focusing on CEC and PNP. There seems to be a lot of pessimism on this thread, so to anyone else who, like me, is in the FSW stream please take heart! If they had decided to shut down the FSW program then they would have announced it...

Sorry, I'm not familiar with the lingo but what is "LVO staff" and what is their role in the FSW draw?

    Representative cancellation

So it turns out I was selecting the wrong option for application type and that was the issue (I was picking Federal Skilled Worker instead of Express Entry). I've managed to link my account back now and it happened immediately :)

Ray of Hope - 130th Draw

I think there will be a B2B in December. I expect there'll be a draw on December 11 and then another between 18 - 20 December.

Ray of Hope - 130th Draw

Ontario's last major PNP draw was in August and they've met their quota for this year so there'll be no more. BC has draws every month. But Saskatchewan has pretty big draws too and they also happen every month.
