    May 2022 - Citizenship Applications

I don't really know what you are expecting as far as updates go. It is fairly well known that you only receive an update once something is processed in their normal workflow. So if they requested additional documents you will not get any updates regarding that and all you can do is what you...

    May 2022 - Citizenship Applications

I don't know about the tracker but I got my exam email the day after my fingerprint request. My guess, like most things, is that every file is slightly different and the timing may be shorter or longer for different people.

    **SEPTEMBER 2018** INLAND SPOUSE SPONSORSHIP

Just another update that probably doesn't really matter, but I checked ECAS today and it says "Complete" on my side and still DM on sponsors. Also GCKey still says submitted but when I checked the full application status it says "approved". So looks like those do change, but again not sure it...

    **SEPTEMBER 2018** INLAND SPOUSE SPONSORSHIP

Landing interview on the 16th, all went smoothly. Also got new SIN (you need your old one if you already have one), updated my Alberta healthcare from one with an expiration date to indefinite, and got SIN number updated with my employer and bank. All fairly smooth. Just waiting for the PR card...

    **SEPTEMBER 2018** INLAND SPOUSE SPONSORSHIP

Why would staying in Canada and not traveling be an issue, I didn't say that, I said "Any reason they wouldn't let you back into Canada would probably also be reason to decline your PR if you were sitting here not traveling anyway". Meaning you might as well travel because they would be unlikely...

    **SEPTEMBER 2018** INLAND SPOUSE SPONSORSHIP

If you are applying inland immigration only want's you to stay in Canada in terms of residency, it doesn't mean you aren't allowed to take a vacation or travel for business while your application is in process. It's unreasonable to require people to not travel for up to a year while their...

Another US applicant here. I am currently on a post grad work permit and traveled back to the US no problem after submitting my application. As long as you can validly re-enter Canada there should be no issues, I opened my passport to my work permit like normal, he asked what kind of work I do...

    US Citizens Thread

Guess I'll throw my hat in the ring here. I moved to Canada in Jan. 2014 to study, got a post grad work permit a year ago, and have my PR landing interview on this coming Tuesday (common-law with a Canadian citizen so hit me up if you have questions about that). I'm pretty sure my car things...

The hours you are working on your study permit count towards the total work hours needed, so depending on your job and skill-set it may be better to stay in school. I'm not sure I understand why PR is such an urgent issue. Like I said you are already in the country with study permits that last...

If you are in Canada, you apply inland. One is not better or worse there is just a slightly different process for those applying from within Canada and those applying from another country (outland). Meaning you are physically in Canada so are inland vs someone physically living in another...

A couple of things. First if you are on study permits you should have an open work permit associated with that for up to 20 hours per week and I'm pretty sure full time when classes are not in session. It should say on your study permit. If not you could reapply for your study permit in order to...

    **SEPTEMBER 2018** INLAND SPOUSE SPONSORSHIP

Also as mentioned before in this thread make sure you actually have to pay this. If you paid $1040 with your initial application the $490 PRRF is included in that and you just have to bring that receipt (one with the bar code) with you.
