Nobody knows what the processing time will be for the international students stream. Mostly IRCC will be releasing more information regarding the public policy this week. You can have two applications simultaneously but will have to pay the processing fee( could be anywhere b/w $500-$850) again...

When you call ircc the call centre agents give us an update on criminality and security. If I’m not wrong background check usually includes both criminality and security. Background remains in progress in the online account till the final approval of the file.

I think your work permit has to be expiring on 4 months or less to apply for bowp plus it says if you live in Quebec you’re not eligible for bowp https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/work-canada/extend-permit/bridging-open-work-permit.html

Got an application update today! Additional documents (RCMP check) which was in review from dec 2nd changed to not applicable.

Are you sure you called yesterday? Yesterday was Easter Monday and I don’t think the call centre agents were working.

Probably your application is being assessed my a senior visa officer; hence the in progress status.

Thats normal, the eligibility was recommended passed by a Case processing analyst, then it goes to a senior visa officer who will conclusively pass your eligibility. Hence the eligibility is in progress after recommended pass

Not that I know of. I spoke to an agent on Friday, Eligibility was recommended pass, criminality in progress and security not started.

No you don’t have to do PCC again since you got your aor.

I have read about such cases on Facebook groups. They usually call you when you get your copr to confirm if you’re in the country. If you’re outside Canada then they will revert back your copr so you can come back with your existing visa and they would issue your copr again once you’re back...

You should have a minimum of 6 in each component to be eligible for express entry. You won’t be able to make a profile at this time. I suggest to prepare and re-take the test at the earliest .
