December 2019 Inland Spousal Application (With or Without OWP)

Hmm I just see the link at the top of the page for submissions, but I’m hesitant to submit it twice... We originally submit through the web form because that’s the link the request letter supplied. I did just send a new message through web form to follow up and see if there’s anything still...

December 2019 Inland Spousal Application (With or Without OWP)

Hi everyone, My husband submitted his police check a couple months ago through the link provided in the request letter and we got a confirmation email that the additional documents were received. Since he's from Japan we knew we had to wait for this request letter and that this would be the...

    Police certificate from Japan

I'm also wondering about this. Just received my husband's police check from the Japanese Embassy in Vancouver. The embassy says it's invalid if we open the envelope, but the IRCC instructions are to scan and upload a copy... Did you find the correct way about it? Thanks for any help!

December 2019 Inland Spousal Application (With or Without OWP)

I live in BC so the eligibility might be slightly different in Ontario, but a couple months ago I found out that my husband has been eligible for MSP (our version of OHIP) basically the whole time since we submitted our application. I had to submit a bunch of documents to MSP services (proof of...

December 2019 Inland Spousal Application (With or Without OWP)

I've also been wondering about this. As for now I (Canadian citizen) filed my own taxes and I reported my marital status but didn't include any information about his income (which is $0 in Canada), nor did we submit anything for him. We've applied in-land and he's still waiting on his OWP.

    IMM 5532 - Employment History

I would include any job that was "on the books" even if it was just for a short period of time. It's fine to have a long list of previous employment - we did for sure!

    Open Work Permit (OWP) Confusion

Hi all, My husband and I submitted his inland PR application + OWP on December 10th 2019. We've received and AOR for the PR and linked his PR application online. We haven't received any news about his OWP but I recently was able to link it to the online account as well. However, I now realize...

    Quick question about Checklist

My husband and I are finally (!!!) just about to submit his application and we're just finishing off the checklist. For the police certificate section, he (Japanese) is not required to submit a police check with his application at this time. Should we still write "Japan" on the blank "country...

Visitor Extension and Open Work Permit

My husband's visitor status expires in 1 month. We are ready to submit his in-land spousal sponsorship PR application this week and will include an Open Work Permit application. Is my understanding correct that we should also apply to extend his visitor status in case his application got...

    Police Certificate Confusion

When I checked the Canadian government website it gave specific instructions for the country (in our case Japan) and also whether or not the person is living in that country. In our case we can get it through the Japanese embassy/consulate here in Canada.

    Police Certificate Confusion

Thanks for the info! I guess I'll include a letter of explanation as to why there's no police certificate included and then we'll wait to get word for their request. Based on the gov't website instructions, I'm making the assumption that we don't need to include consent form in place of the...

Certified Copy Birth Certificate from Embassy

My husband requested his Japanese birth certificate through the Japanese embassy in Vancouver and we just received it but it is a "certified copy of the official family register..." and it is in English. I'm thinking this is not going to be adequate. Can someone confirm? I'm going to guess...

    Police Certificate Confusion

Hello, my husband (PA) and I are near ready to submit our in-land application but I'm getting a bit confused about his Police Certificate requirements.
