Isnt my case similar to this I've applied to extend my study permit. Can I travel outside Canada and be able to return? (cic.gc.ca)

Im sure all you need is an approved PGWP. You will get a doc stating the same, which should be enough for a travel to US and back.

@soniclife congrats. on a side note, were you able to figure out about travelling to USA with study permit expired and still waiting on PGWP?
