RQ versus Physical Presence Questionnaires, including CIT 0205

They are highly recommended as they have handled many citizenship applications. Mr. Bergman, if he accepts the case, is a senior lawyer with over 30 years of experience.

No update from IRCC on citizenship oath ceremony. Next steps?

Having waited for over 30 months (and obviously being frustrated), I still think waiting for couple of more months for grant of citizenship is nothing if it helps savings Canadian lives.

    October 11th 2017 - Citizenship Applicants under 3/5 rule

Hi Sarfandee. How does a lawyer help? Is he or she going after the mandamus route?

Hi, I am also considering the mandamus option. Can some of you introduce a good lawyer? I know someone already but I am not sure how experienced he is with Mandamus route. I got an advice that only those who specialize in this filed should be trusted with sending such an application (for...

    17+ Months Applicants

After reading all the forums above, I will start to lawyer up for a writ of mandamus (and first the intention of doing so). 24 months of processing with or without RQ while you believe in your residency and also have no background issues is not acceptable.

    17+ Months Applicants

After not getting a response through email and phone calls, I went in person to the MP office. That's where the person responsible for following up with citizenship cases told me "what is the rush?". lol.

18 months of wait! Anyone like me?

@dpenabill Once again thank you for your detailed explanation. What I meant above by luck had nothing to do with the fact that a certain application may or may not be sent for extra scrutiny. Rather, when it is sent an RQ, it is a matter of luck on how long it might take to process that...

18 months of wait! Anyone like me?

problem is no one knows. If you read dpenabill threads, you will notice that it really depends on your luck and some factors that no one can guess. There are many ambiguities on why and how it takes so long. I will hit the 2 years in 4 months (right now 20 months and still waiting with no...

18 months of wait! Anyone like me?

There are many people before you either without test or with test who are still waiting. Like you, I got a request for more docs but the request was in July 2018 and was received in Aug 2019. You have mentioned the request was made in Oct 2018. They usually have a 30 day response time. You said...

    October 11th 2017 - Citizenship Applicants under 3/5 rule

What is strange for those of us who are waiting for residency confirmation, is that the PR card renewal only takes about 3 weeks! And that department receives a huge number of applications from all over Canada. Yet, local offices sometimes take forever to do the same for citizenship apps. As if...
