This is a late update. We got our passports back last Jan 18 and all 3 of us got TRV multiple entry until our passport's validity. So my dad did get a new visa. I asked the officer what will happen to the old one and she told me, it will be cancelled.

yes, we did get approved and apparently, available for pick-up na pala yung passports nmin nung nag-check ako ng vsfglobal(Jan 16). I picked it up Jan 18 and we all got visas valid until end of our passports validity (swerte lang ng kuya at papa ko dahil 10 years ung passport nila).
