Any updates on your account? My wife's passport was received in Singapore August 28th and it's been quiet so far.

TRV while waiting for Spousal Sponsorship

In terms of ties, I think it was just showing her bank account balance (it is not nil) and explaining that she is still working on her PhD. I don't think we gave much more proof of ties than that. It is hard to tell what helped. I think it was a combination of her previous travel history and...

TRV while waiting for Spousal Sponsorship

Hi, I think the general sentiment is that often those are denied. Howver, in our case (Thai wife with higher education and previous travel experience to other countries) the wife was approved for a multiple entry TRV.

    FEBRUARY 2019 *OUTLAND* SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP

Greetings, How long might it take from DM on ECAS to PPR? We're going through Singapore VO. Yesterday we've got pre-arrival on GCKey, this morning the PA status on ECAS has changed to "Decision Made" (no notification).

Yes, she is with me in Canada right now. Medical -- from what I understand, yes, you can do it anywhere. For PPR it should be done either from home (we're going back anyway) or from here if she can stay here for up to 3 months post PPR.

Tips for Tourist Visa While Waiting PR Approval

Sure. We were quite thorough. I wrote a detailed invitation, making sure I tick all of the boxes from https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/visit-canada/letter-invitation.html We also included 4 months worth of bank statements from both of us (both I and her have...

Tips for Tourist Visa While Waiting PR Approval

It worked for us, my wife got a multi-entry visitor visa -- but no idea how common this is.

While the possibility of rejection is probably high indeed, my wife (Thai national, with some travel history to Schengen and Asian countries) were actually approved for a multi-entry TRV this year, while our application is being (painfully slowly) processed at Singapore VO. She doesn't have a...

    FEBRUARY 2019 *OUTLAND* SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP

We just received an AOR2 from Singapore VO. The letter states Apr 23, 2019, however it states that the application was received Apr 8, 2019. For the spreadsheet, which date should be used for the AOR2 column? My assumption here is that the application was in fact received Apr 8, but they are...

My understanding was that Singapore is actually one of the slow ones. Before CIC made it a uniform 12-month "promise" I remember looking up Singapore and it had 3 years sponsorship timeline, while other places had 9-12 months. Also, I read somewhere that Singapore delays medical as to avoid its...
