From what I know, they will take back your PR card at the oath ceremony. You will not have PR card to return to Canada. But you can call them to re-schedule the oath to another day after your trip back home.

People who applied in June have their oath scheduled in April. So hopefully we will get ours in May or June.

You can call CIC , ask them if there is any scheduled oath for you (although I don't think so!). If there is nothing, then buy your ticket and also inform CIC your absence so they will not schedule your oath during that time. Me too, I am from Montreal, and that what I will do for my travel in...

Some people got update to DM in the same day as test, some took 1, 2 days. At the interview after the test, the offices said to me "Congratulation..., all are good....The oath invitation will come .... bla bla....", It has been a week and I am still waiting for DM. :(

I passed my test today in Montreal. The agent said my file was good and clear. The oath will come in 3 or 4 months. Montreal is so slow regarding oath ceremony.

Since only 38% of application in May received test invitation. This number for April and March is 48% and 51%. I don't think there is issue in your case. I understand your felling, but I think all you need is patience. Your day will come.
