I sent via FedEx Express. Sent on Dec 3, received on Dec 4, according to FedEx. CIC didn't acknowledge receiving my passport; the only update i got is when they approved the application. They didn't update their website when sending the passport back either.

FedEx Ground and FedEx Express are two different companies, so that is likely impossible :( On the brighter side, I have the same timeline as you (Visa counterfoil appeared on Dec 11) and my return tracker was just activated this morning.
