Possible Strike Action by IRCC employees starting mid-April

Something about not missing out "strike pay" from the union but what do I know. How did you get to keep that username lol

You think it takes 6 months to learn how to click yes or no on a computer?

Possible Strike Action by IRCC employees starting mid-April

A contractor is probably 10 to 20 times faster and more efficient than any IRCC employees so the numbers checks out.

Possible Strike Action by IRCC employees starting mid-April

I bet you it takes maybe 3 clicks of the mouse to process CERB. They clearly were not verifying anything as they claimed that they wanted to get money into tax payers hands asap. Yes it's a fact that unionized government workers are very inefficient. Look all all the backlogs in almost every...

Possible Strike Action by IRCC employees starting mid-April

Ignorant? Lmao. Did anyone in this entire forum get a 9 percent raise? Did anyone get to keep their jobs while staying home and get paid full salaries and benefits for 2 years. Sorry we - the non government workers - find it hard to sympathize with overpaid inefficient persons that are...

Possible Strike Action by IRCC employees starting mid-April

Maybe you enjoy your plans being on hold for a couple years with the uncertainty that goes with it. I've already gotten my citizenship but I'm still concerned for other persons who have invested a lot into the Canadian system being taken for a ride by government workers union. I always speak...

I hope the strike ends quickly. But let's say it doesn't end soon, I'll like to see your tone if your application takes 4 years to process lmao

So it seems like there are still 4 unresolved issues that are holding up the agreement. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottawa/treasury-board-open-letter-1.6820781 I'll say the government gives them the pay increase and tie it to permanent work at the office except in emergencies lol

Possible Strike Action by IRCC employees starting mid-April

Someone probably has it. But government staff should not make it east for low level hackers to access it. No way all staff working from home own encrypted laptops or internet connections. And no way to guarantee that a staff won't leave their laptop to get coffee and a spouse or friend then...

Possible Strike Action by IRCC employees starting mid-April

Is anyone here concerned that all of their personal and financial information would probably be out on the dark web for anyone to use as they see fit because IRCC, Service Canada, or CRA staff wants to work from home? When we hear of this breach who would we hold responsible for damages?

Possible Strike Action by IRCC employees starting mid-April

These clowns think they can best serve Canadians from their bedrooms while watching TV in the background or doing other household chores on paid time. Of course, they would be against contracting out because once the government realizes that the public service is a massive waste of public funds...

Possible Strike Action by IRCC employees starting mid-April

April 24, 2023 - Ottawa (Ontario) - Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat As we enter another week of negotiations, I have an important message for you, and for Canadians. Our team has been working around the clock to negotiate new collective agreements that are fair, competitive, and...

    Canadian Passport in person timeline

You can go out without it. And if you have a way to get to the border, they would let you in after verifying your identity. It's just a major inconvenience for those who have already made considerable expenses and their trips do no fall under emergency rules.

Possible Strike Action by IRCC employees starting mid-April

570 demands? These people are really bored at work. At this point, if they don't accept what's on the table then it may be time for back-to-work rules. And why would the union want any layoffs to be based on seniority rather than merit?

Possible Strike Action by IRCC employees starting mid-April

I'll like to see the figures for that claim. I did the zoom oath ceremony and it was one of the most chaotic things I have ever seen, I can only imagine how it will be for staff trying to hold meetings while dogs are barking in the background and kids crying for attention.Like someone else...

Do I need to pay my taxes before applying for citizenship?

Tax filing is one way IRCC uses to verify residency, employment history and other background checks. They are not looking if you're owing taxes. A lot of people owe taxes or are on a payment plan so that's also not an issue too.
