Buy a ticket, call them, ask for a transfer to the local office and get it asap. You might still make it. Unless it's not too important

So, why are you worried if you don't have a travel date set, yet? :)

This could be one of the reasons. They try to prioritize applications with travel dates that are within the next 25-5 business days is my guess, so the closer the date the more chances it is being processed.

Did you also submit a proof of travel?

They will not and they don't care. You should just do it. Complaining will not work or change anything.

Just buy smth. When you buy the ticket it will show you the conditions. You probably can cancel it. Or take an old ticket, edit it in PDF editor and show it :)))

Buy a ticket for next Thursday, the one you can refund. Call them, transfer your file to a local office and go pick up your passport on Wednesday

Read my post above, they shpuld transfer your file and you could get it pretty fast. Just have to have proof of travel and the proof of medical need (if possible, but not necessary). It is ridiculous we even have to discuss it here. It's a passport.....our right.

Has anybody had experience with transferring their in-mail application to the local office and getting their passport on time 2-3 weeks before their actual travel date?

Gotta admit they mostly stick to the 20 business day schedule.
