    November 2023 - Citizenship Applications

Sorry. I'm misunderstanding something here, but I'm not sure what. You said you did not give fingerprints for PR, but you did give biometrics. Then you said biometrics includes fingerprints. So this would mean you did give fingerprints for PR, right? I did not, since my PR AOR was prior to the...

    November 2023 - Citizenship Applications

Sorry; what are biometrics if not fingerprints? I did not have to "give biometrics" when doing PR (2018-2019).

Did you have to get fingerprints for PR? I didn't, so I'm worried that they will require it for me when I apply for citizenship.

Can you give an overview of how the Calgary ceremony went and where it's held and everything like the poster above? It would be really useful for me. Congrats!

Guidelines to call IRCC CIC from US

I don't know why it wouldn't, unless the app is blocked in Brazil. The app gives you a Canadian number to call from and it only uses data/wifi.

That's literally the entire purpose of this thread, and I already said how to do it.

Guidelines to call IRCC CIC from US

You landed. You are a permanent resident. You can go to Canada whenever you please. :) You still have to contact the IRCC to get your PR card, so I suggest you do it within the first 180 days to get it for free.

Guidelines to call IRCC CIC from US

Yeah you're fine for the first 3 years max. If you move after 2 years, like I did, you still have 1 year to be out of the country for vacations and stuff within the first 5 years. If you move after 2 years, you can still get your card then, but you must pay the fee to get it. I would advise you...

Guidelines to call IRCC CIC from US

Call them using the TextNow app like this whole thread is about? If you tell them you don't live there though, expect them to tell you to get lost. I assume this is what happened at the border. You told the officer you weren't actually moving.

I feel sorry for you guys still waiting. I finally made it to Canada (Dec 2018 AOR - landed Aug 2019 - moved July 2021). I'm looking out the window near the lake in downtown (Liberty Village) at all the snow still left on the streets and grass. -17 C.

Use TextNow (free) app to get a free Canadian number. Don't use hangouts. Don't use *67.

If you mean for the health card / license, I used letters from our employers stating that we would continue to be employed and they had our new address (airbnb) on it. I also had printed the "visa letter" that AirBNB provides stating the stay duration and all that (mine is 2.5 months) but they...

December 2018 AOR - join here

I have now been in Canada (Toronto) since Sunday! Finally made it. The US CBP side was kinda rude to me when exporting my car, but CBSA was pretty nice. I got my temporary Ontario license and health card and opened a bank account and got a Costco membership. Waiting on the official debit/credit...

Understood. I never had ADRs, but back then people always said web form. Maybe things have changed. I had AOR of December 2018 and PPR in March 2019.
