    PR card photos repeatedly rejected?

Yes - triple checked with a ruler, had the photo studio employee AND manager verify it as well. Double checked the information and stamps. I have no idea what could be wrong :/

    PR card photos repeatedly rejected?

The photos I sent in for my PR card have been rejected for the third time.. I've been doing them at the local Shoppers, with a photographer who has been doing them for years and is just as puzzled. Anyone have any ideas? The ONLY thing I can think of, that I just noticed now, is that there are...

Has anyone attempted U-haul crossing at the border since closure?

Sorry for the late response - I already had an apartment rented in Canada, and ready to move into (stocked with nonperishable/frozen foods, house supplies, etc). As for the U-haul, CBSA actually didn't say anything about that other than to look over our goods list.

Has anyone attempted U-haul crossing at the border since closure?

Hi all, When I landed via flight a couple weeks ago, the immigration agent handling my landing told me I should be fine driving a Uhaul with my belongings up through the border, as I am now a PR and they will not turn me away (plus my wife is a Canadian citizen). Has anyone attempted driving a...

Best method (minimal loss) for transferring money to Canada?

I am a new PR and need to transfer money over from the US to Canada (quite a large amount, as I intend to buy a home). However, it seems banks offer terrible exchange rates for wire transfers, and I assume writing myself a check would have the same problem? Wondering if anyone has any...

Is the US Land Border restricted for Permanent Residents?

Would also be very interested if anyone is attempting a land crossing after this weekend, as I was hoping to cross in about a month using a U-Haul but am now unsure if that is "essential travel."

    Looking for border crossing experiences

Hi all, I am planning to drive a U-Haul through the Washington state border entry with my COPR and was wondering if anyone could share their experiences, what to expect, tips, etc.. I am also hoping someone could share an idea of what their personal belongings list looked like (for example, how...

    Soft Landing + Immigration Rules

Hi all, Just received my COPR. My wife (Canadian citizen) is returning to Canada to work, though I won't be coming with her (yet). As a US citizen, am I still able to fly in as a visitor (just to see her), without starting the PR process?

"Soft Landing" and moving belongings after

I believe I read about this - is it a specific form that requires a lot of detail? For my wife's US immigration, we made a vague list (like "Box 1A - Pots, pans, silverware") and it was accepted...

"Soft Landing" and moving belongings after

Hi all, If I understand correctly, a "soft landing" is when you arrive after COPR but do not actually settle. In my case, I was hoping to soft land so I can start establishing bank accounts etc., then return to the US to finish up some personal matters as well as pack my belongings to move. In...

Urgent help needed- Working for a US company in Canada on PR?

Also interested in this, as my US employer is interested in keeping me on as a contractor after I move to Canada as a PR. Would I need to file any particular paperwork, or just get paid into a Canadian account and make sure I report that income when it's tax time?

Foreign Buyer Tax (Vancouver) as an incoming PR

I appreciate the effort! That's pretty much what I had found, but I was questioning whether I understood correctly and was hoping someone here had experience with it. That 92 day move-in requirement makes a pretty strong case to me for not buying until I have my PR in hand though...
