Sigh, my application was received on May 7, processing started on July 11, but I haven't heard any more update yet. :( I'd assume my local office would be Scarbough too. It's just frustrated to see people who applied late than me already got test date.

Does the letter say Service Canada rep will be on site to help you get a permanent SIN? If so, cancel it. My letter from Scarborough office stated that Service Canada rep would be there to set up SIN, and yes I got the permanent SIN on the same day I landed. SIN card received after 1 week.

I have a SIN for a long time but it was expired on September 10th with my PGWP. I guess I can't use it anymore and have to wait for a new SIN or reactive my old SIN when I get my OWP (if I decide not to cancel it)?

Thanks everyone! LY, I have no idea where my local office will be. I am in Toronto, so probably Etobicoke, Scarborough, or Mississauga. I assume I can make a cancellation request anytime before they process it, right?
