Hi, did you apply online or went in person to the Service Canada office? I applied online and I got the SIN within 10 days.

Please do not think of that!! Stay positive!! Things are starting to move albeit slowly, but all of us have already hit rock bottom in the past couple of months. I think it will get better in the coming months.

If you are going to get it from Service Canada, I do not think you need any proof of address. If you are applying online, then you need the proof. I submitted the request online with a Walmart grocery delivery receipt ( to my place of stay) and it got approved within a week.

Thanks for the information. Very helpful indeed ! I heard that currently Service Canada centers are only issuing SIN to those who have a job offer. The only way others can get a SIN is online as the SIN centers at the airport are also closed due to Covid. Is this true?

Yes I have a cousin friend who lives in Toronto with his family. I can ask him but how does that prove my address since I wont have my name on it?
