just realized we were in similar situation. since we are at the final stage, I think they won't pull our application due to being laid off or fired. I was wondering if we can staying without a work permit during waiting for PPR.

no exact date showing there, it just said that your ME has been received. Monday I called CIC customer service, the agent told me the date, not sure there is no exact date, just showing that medical exam has been received.

GOOD NEWS: My current employer agreed to keep my position until I obtain my PR, and the immigration officer told me that my current employer needs to pay employer compliance fee to support with my WP extension (like you said) which is great. Can I apply WP extension online?
