I went to India to visit my wife after I applied her spouse PR visa but I didn't let IRCC know about it and my application is on the last edge now. So I don't think if its mandatory as specially in my case they didn't care neither me.

Application received October 11, 2017 AOR1 - Nov 17, 2017 PCC and Sch A req - Nov 27, 2017 Medical Req - Dec1, 2017 File trans to Delhi - Jan 10, 2018 In process - Jan 15, 2018 PA and DM - August 28,2018 waiting on PPR.

I'm October 11 applicant, no update since file was transferred to NDVO in Jan.

Still waiting on Oct 11 application

I think October 2 got dm and October 16th got pre arrival. Pre arrival just means how to settle your life in canada with available resources. DM and PPR is more important this time. I am October 11 applicant so still waiting on any update.
