Yep, the visa is stamped on your original passport...but they need those details to process your copr (eye color, height, passport info etc). I read on one thread that at the point of landing those details are confirmed by the officers (to verify identity i guess).

To be honest if someone said to me ‘everything is ok with your file just be patient’, i would sleep easier at night. Which is why i feel those of you whose applications are being handled within Canada are better off. You call ircc and can actually get feedback.

I had the same error and when i got a response (filled a web form under technical difficulties) from cic; “We verified the information on your file. Since you already submitted your application for permanent residence, the job seeker validation code no longer applies to you”. I think Express...
