Hey everyone, does everyone get the request to provide fingerprints? I'm a Sept. 19 applicant, have done medicals & passed, received Work Permit, my PR application status is in background check processing first week of January, but I haven't received the request for fingerprints, yet!!

Well technically, my WP is issued until June 2020 which is when my passport expires, so that part is okay. I was more concerned about the “Pending FC June 2020

I received the WP in the mail today. Application Received Sept. 19; Application Approved January 16; Received in Mail January 21. Question for applicants here: in the remarks section it says "Document issued to passport expiry date. Pending FC Apr.". Does it say the same in yours?

This is completely an assumption on my end, but I would think that Oct. would be considered the application date for the OWP. Maybe someone else here has a better idea on this topic.

They're separate, so depending when you submit the OWP it will follow the timeline for OWP, regardless of the PR timeline. Therefore, it's better to submit both at the same time, so you can get your OWP within 4 months, because PR could take up to 12 months.

Question for those who have received the physical Work Permit: Does it indicate that it’s through a Spousal Sponsorship, or simply Open Work Permit?

You don't need a job offer. You can just apply to change conditions, so you apply for PR sponsorship (in-land) & work permit at the same time. Or you can apply for work permit after you submit your PR application.

Just checked my account, OWP approved today. Sept. 19 Applicant!

I am in the same position. Yesterday morning it was changed to "reviewing your eligibility", but it hasn't changed since. I know of at least another member here @Freshboi who had the same?

Has anyone here has had their eligibility requirements started for OWP, but didn't get an approval until next day or later?

From what I've seen from some previous applicants, it was approved the same day, but with IRCC you never know! Not sure what they check and how long that takes for them to make a decision and update the system.
