How do I find out time spent outside Canada?

In other words: even with a PR card, and with all the right of Permanent Residency, admission to Canada is highly subjective and is based at the discretion of the CBSA agent. Does the "reasons-to-question-presence" reflect a set protocol or rules, or is it also highly discretionary?

Updating address for PR card when landing first time

I misread your original post. But from what I read, you can't fly to Canada w/o a PR Card. This is the real question.

Updating address for PR card when landing first time

Without your PR Card how would you even arrive in Canada?

FIRST PR CARD: FSW PROGRAM : PROCESSING TIME

I'm trying to understand the mechanism here. What was your 'PR Card application' number? Where did you get it from? And you linked this in your cic.gc.ca account I'm assuming?

FIRST PR CARD: FSW PROGRAM : PROCESSING TIME

So if I understand you correctly, after your initial arrival you went and applied separately for a PR card. How and where did you do this?

How many Days can we live out of Canada during PR Status?

Thanks for link. The people I was speaking with told me that PR RO aside, immigration officers can simply 'refuse' entry as you had been away for too long. The case I heard involved someone denied entry into Canada when they tried entering 8 months 3 weeks after initial landing date. What do...

How many Days can we live out of Canada during PR Status?

I've heard about people having challenges getting back in Canada if they spent 6~8 months outside. Ask an attorney about this. Perhaps others on this forum can add to this

Urgent, please advise for landing and H1b (ext) stamping

Did you enter Canada proper (drive past the border check), OR did you drive to the CBSA post to return back to the US. Just wanted to know how CBSA views non-imported cars. Reading thru this forum, looks like CBSA doesn't want people to 'drive' around in Canada without importing their cars...

Exporting/Importing Vehicle - US to Canada ONLY!

That'll be an interesting experience for sure. Tell us how it goes.

Exporting/Importing Vehicle - US to Canada ONLY!

According to the CBSA agent I spoke briefly on the phone, if you are a Canadian resident, AND drive a US plated car across the border into Canada, you will be fined if you cross the border back into the US in less than 48 hr. I can't find any such guidelines on the CBSA or TC websites but I...

Exporting/Importing Vehicle - US to Canada ONLY!

That's the impression I got too. I'd rather not risk showing up there and finding an unsympathetic CBSA agent -- EVEN though I mentioned that I'll be there for <36 hr. BTW according to CBSA did you know that there's a fine if you drive into Canada for less than 48 hr?

Exporting/Importing Vehicle - US to Canada ONLY!

I found one thru online searches: USCanadaAutoTransport.com NOTE: I haven't used them, neither can vouch for them. They were nice on the phone though

Exporting/Importing Vehicle - US to Canada ONLY!

Being a US citizen, are you allowed to drive your US-titled/plated car in Canada w/o 'importing' it on BSF186? Could you just put your car on 'Goods to Follow' and drive your car around on US plates as a Resident?

Urgent, please advise for landing and H1b (ext) stamping

So if I followed you correctly: you were able to drive in to Canada (presumably in your own car), complete your landing, and drive out. Was CBSA happy with you driving your own vehicle without importing it in? Is this even allowed?
