Hi, your best option is OCI. ( with assumption you have or applied Canada passport ) Once u get surrender certificate, apply for OCI ( before Dec 15 ). As with OCI application you dont need to submit Canadian Passport.

You have two options 1. Either call IRCC helpdesk, they can confirm. 2. Order GCMS ( which is lengthy process as it takes a month or more to receive GCMS notes ) Also, As soon as they receive fingers, they update the Citizenship tracker. I hope it helps. Thank you
