Approved while on TRV - next steps

Thanks very much for the helpful reply. I read about the landing appointment but the official page on this was confusing. It gave the info on making appointments but misread this - Note: You must leave Canada, enter another country and re-enter Canada to become a permanent resident at an...

Approved while on TRV - next steps

Hi everyone - My wife has finally been granted "Decision Made" - approved for permanent residency! End of a long, tedious process. Big relief. I'll share my timeline in a subsequent post in the September 2018 group, but had two questions. -- My wife is currently in Canada on a TRV and we...

Excellent and thanks for the lightning quick reply!

    Immigration at airport

Hi everyone - My wife received a TRV while the PR application is in process. At the airport, I believe they separate Canadian citizens and tourists into different lines. My wife may have a language difficulty when she is questioned upon arrival. Has anyone here been in similar circumstances...

    TRV received while awaiting PPR

We were fortunate enough to receive a TRV while awaiting PPR. I share this to let others know who might be in the same situation as me awaiting PPR for permanent residency. I waited longer than I needed to before applying for PPR based on the accepted fact stated repeatedly throughout this forum...

****SEPTEMBER 2018**** OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP OUTSIDE OF CANADA

Hi - I asked this same question a couple of times in this forum and was met with several responses saying that it's "highly unlikely", "next to impossible", etc. (In this thread at least I've noticed people writing based on their own personal experience.) But I'm in the same boat as you and we...

    Biometrics - next steps

Thanks. Pity it doesn’t come after an initial assessment of general suitability.

    Biometrics - next steps

Hi- I'm applying for a TRV for my wife through the online application process. I paid the biometric fee in advance. Am I correct in assuming that my wife will need to go to a place where they collect biometrics and submit them before they give any indication as to whether her application may be...

Others can weigh in but as I remember you can append an explanatory letter for things that are unusual about your application and documents. I don’t think it’s a problem if you point it out at the outset with an explanation.

Congrats!! That’s a very good sign of PPR being a month away, right? Was GCKey also updated to show this or just email? Happy for you and obviously hoping that since our timelines are so close, ours is not far off. Though on ours they haven’t indicated background check starting yet so who...

Still silence. This arbitrary process drags on. May/June and still no PPR???!! I hope that's not SVGO.

    Dual Intent - Medical question

Hi everyone, I'm currently waiting for PR status for my wife and will be applying for a TRV application to hopefully cut down on the waiting time. The TRV application requires an "upfront medical". My wife has already passed a medical for the PR application, but the results were not given to us...

****SEPTEMBER 2018**** OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP OUTSIDE OF CANADA

What to expect next sounds like the passport request or a pre-arrival letter. When to expect it is anybody’s guess as the process seems totally arbitrary. Anecdotally I would think you’re in for less of a wait with a PA from the uk. As for he’s tourist visa, the conventional wisdom is that the...

Congratulations! Can I ask where the PA is from? We’re with SVGO and no pre-arrival yet.

****SEPTEMBER 2018**** OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP OUTSIDE OF CANADA

Yes, word for word the same one that I received. And even something like this without a syllable variation for different cases takes time to be sent! Very frustrating. And another week goes by...

****SEPTEMBER 2018**** OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP OUTSIDE OF CANADA

People from May and June are still waiting from SVGO?!! Oh, that is very bad news, indeed. Have you seen that others have received a passport request from SVGO or does it look like everybody is stuck in that backlog? Terrible that you didn't get a reply. I don't understand how this system is...

****SEPTEMBER 2018**** OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP OUTSIDE OF CANADA

Hi - have you heard anything from SVO? I'm still stuck at the same place. Very frustrating. I'm tempted to write again but am concerned that it will only be used an excuse to again delay things. I was really thinking we'd be making travel plans by now. What a system. The one-year "average...

****SEPTEMBER 2018**** OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP OUTSIDE OF CANADA

The reply to my email took four days or so, I think, but other than that no movement on the file at all, and we're approaching a four-day holiday for government employees, which I assume embassy staff would get, with people more likely to plan in vacations around that... So that possible delay...
