Does anyone know if my husband (indian citizen) would need a visa to just travel through LONDON airport, ie. we won't be leaving the airport but have about an 8 hour stop there?

HORRAY!!! WE GOT THE PASSPORT AND VISA BY POST TODAY! My hubby and I want to write a little detailed blurb about our process, we hope it will be helpful. This process is so stressful and it feels like you are running though a maze in the dark. Everyone's process as I am sure is different, here...

Thread for applicants of NEW DELHI 2010!

I am not sure what really happened about sending more info, I also sent what we had previously provided to the MP this time and she must have sent it to Ottawa where they found it sufficient information... ND was just asking for it again for some reason, maybe they lost some of the papers in the...

Horray!!! I contacted my MP again today, it was a different woman than I had spoken with a month prior. She put in an enquiry again and Ottawa went straight to ND because at this point we applied 7 months ago... And within one day she emailed me and told me GOOD NEWS!!! THEY ISSUED HIS VISA...

Thread for applicants of NEW DELHI 2010!

I am lucky to be here in India with my husband now, it is so nice to be together:) We are still waiting on some kind of information from ND, but fortunately we can do so with one another... Supposedly, when I checked with my MP today they sent a letter to us at the end of January... We are in...

That is strange that they waited so long to even start processing your case. Even if it does reach over the six month time (in March for us) I probably really cannot do a whole lot about it... Some people I have heard of have been waiting over 17months... but they have different cases... I don't...

Thread for applicants of NEW DELHI 2010!

A lawyer told me it is 6 months from when Delhi started processing, i thought it was from initial application time as well but he says there is no use to enquire now, he was an immigration officer so I kinda trust his opinion....

Yeah, our PPR was directly after the transfer. They started to process our case and PPR letter is dated Sept 21st. Medicals were done in Chennai at the Apollo clinic by Dr. Prakash (one of the CND immigration approved doctor)

Yup, no change here yet... Still it says starting processing on September 16th... nothing about medicals but I assume they would have contacted us about that if they didn't have them?

Honestly, I am not sure what Caip notes are? The lawyer we are working with has informed me that only after the set 6months (and that is from when the file reached Delhi) can we really proceed to be more aggressive and take further steps, I pray we don't have to do that. He also informed me...

We are so close to giving up as well Sarong, at least we have the freedom to be in India... Although with the indian immigration rules I do have to wait for a year before I can apply for PIO... but I have freedom to visit. And I leave on Monday to do so, we are so excited! Canada is a beautiful...

Thread for applicants of NEW DELHI 2010!

We also got passport request within a week of the application reaching ND, that was mid-septmeber. We were really excited that things were happening so fast... I am not trying to discourage anyone but they seem to be slow in ND after issuing PPR and in giving visa... I am not sure why each...

Thread for applicants of NEW DELHI 2010!

Weird, it doesn't say anything about our medicals being received? But they were done and send in May... and when ND contacted us for more information in Dec they said nothing about medicals etc.... All it says under my name is decision made (meaning my sponsorship was approved) and under my...

Congratulations SOnia. When the MP in my area spoke with someone on Jan 17th from ND they had supposedly not opened our supporting documents that we has sent in December, as I have said before it is unfortunate because the information they needed was in our application in various different...

    Help 2 months since PPR

We submitted my husbands passport when they requested it back in September... I am not sure how, why or if it is legal for one country go hold the passport of another person for so long... In any case it is not fair:( But needless to say you are not alone, there are a lot of people on this site...

Thread for applicants of NEW DELHI 2010!

I have also contacted my MP and they seemed to get word very fast. They can only make an enquiry after a certain time though. They were told that we had missing information on our file which is strange and untrue although there was an obvious typo in his personal history, it was cleared up over...

Thread for applicants of NEW DELHI 2010!

I pray tomorrow is the day for a lot of us :) I wish I knew where our application was in it's process as I may go to my husband at the end of the month if we don't hear anything this week. We have been waiting for seven months now and I have never been more emotional in my life. The problem is...
