    We got the Ghost Update today! Landed: 24 April 2018 Photo Request: 7 June 2018 Photos Received: 4 July 2018 Ghost Update: 14 August 2018 I had to call IRCC yesterday because things were simply not moving. Calling them definitely makes them pull up and look at your application.

    Have no fear. I left the country and re-entered without my PR card. The Canadian Border agents will want to see your CoPR, as it will show in their system that you are a PR.

    Yeah, it seems that 80% of applications receive a photo resubmission request, so the 62-day time window is inaccurate most of the time. Add 60 more days on top of that. It takes almost half a year for a newly-landed immigrant to receive his/her first government-issued ID without which one cannot...

    You will not need a PRTD, and Canada probably won't even issue you one if you're from the US. I am in your same situation and spent countless hours doing research. In sum: You can even go to a foreign country, and your US passport will get you back in Canada.

    Correct. I forgot to mention that, once you reach Canada customs, you need to show your CoPR along with your Passport.

    You're fine. As an American citizen, you will be able to travel in/out of Canada with just your passport without a need for your PR card. Airlines are aware of this, and if they ask you about the PR card, do remind them that your passport is sufficient to enter Canada.
