Quebec Skilled Worker Federal Stage (After CSQ)

I know I’ve asked this before, but never got a clear answer so trying again: if an applicant started process while in Quebec (CSQ application prior to Bill 9), then received invitation to resubmit through arrima, but did so while in USA, got CSQ while in States, sent in PR application to Sydney...

BOWP/ PTOT (Open Work Permits) for CSQ holders with pending PR application

Well.... the 31 fast approaches and it's radio silence about this. No new info. from MIFI. Not even a hint from IRCC. And I'm finding very little in the forums and immigration websites about this. Any news?

BOWP/ PTOT (Open Work Permits) for CSQ holders with pending PR application

I love how snarky folks are on these forums....;) MIFI's announcement didn't say the IRCC will start thinking about this new permit on August 31. MIFI said that as of August 31, the policy will come into effect, thus enabling people to apply under new guidelines. (À la demande du Québec, le...

BOWP/ PTOT (Open Work Permits) for CSQ holders with pending PR application

There’s still nothing about this on IRCC website…talked to an agent yesterday and she said she hadn’t heard anything about this program. She didn’t even know it was set to come into effect soon…not a great sign

BOWP/ PTOT (Open Work Permits) for CSQ holders with pending PR application

Question: Do you think they will establish a system of authorizing applicants to start working immediately while waiting for a decision as is case with other work permit applications? Is it possible that this will be a straightforward application process or at least a streamlined one in which...

    Applying at port of entry

Ah I see. So you think university won’t let me register for “thesis evaluation” if I’m on a work permit? Technically I’ve reached time limitation and would only be able to register for thesis eval anyway...

    Applying at port of entry

Thanks for your response. Do you mean on a PGWP? IRCC says that if you have a CSQ you’re LMIA exempt and with a pending PR application and a job offer (during pandemic), you can apply for an open work permit, no?

Quebec Skilled Worker Federal Stage (After CSQ)

Alas I’ve spent thousands of dollars on lawyers in mtl over the years. Largely useless. They just read policy to you and most often we—the people affected— know it by heart already. They just want to charge huge amounts to fill out the forms for you. Beyond that they all tend to interpret policy...
